Founded in 2005 with a helping hand from The Prince’s Trust, we began operating, as same day couriers with a single, leased van.

Since then, we have experienced significant growth, transforming into an organisation with reach throughout Europe. We now offer transportation solutions to some of the best known companies in the UK and deliver items throughout Europe.

Our growth is impressive, but it isn’t magical. It’s been achieved with clear vision, hard work and a commitment to excellence which remains undimmed.

The story of Today Team.

From devastating rugby injury to award-winning same day couriers.

In the early days of 2005, Today Team didn’t even exist as a concept. For our founder, Jamie Boyd, his main focus was on getting a rugby ball across the try line. Then came a severe knee injury that ended a professional rugby league career. Priorities changed and 2005’s latter months revolved around the efficient delivery of goods.

When the idea of Today Team began to take shape, Boyd had no prior experience in transportation and didn’t have the financial resources. But The Prince’s Trust granted a loan, with which he rented a van, fuelled up and embarked on a journey to secure clients.

Over the following 18 months, Boyd gained invaluable experience of the courier business and developed an appreciation of the significance of prompt deliveries. The foundations for the business we were to become were now in place.

Today Team has an excellent reputation and a loyal customer base. Many of our earliest clients are still with us, and their needs have helped shape our operation. When they needed us to add nationwide deliveries to our original local service, that’s what we did.

Driven by acquisitions and organic means, growth has been continuous. We’ve relocated four times to accommodate an expanding team and won a national CIPD award for the investment and effort dedicated to the development of our staff.

We’re proud of our journey. A small start-up has developed into one of the UK’s top logistics providers. However, we remain ambitious, and our sights are firmly set on the future. We’ll keep pushing forward, acting as the reliable connection between our clients and their crucial delivery destinations.
