A quick look at what’s been happening behind the scenes — and where we’re headed next.

It’s been a busy year so far at Today Team, not least hitting a big milestone with our 20th birthday, and we’re only just getting started!

Behind every same day delivery we make, there’s a team, a system and a strategy working hard to keep things moving smoothly. As our business continues to grow in line with our ambitious plans, we’re investing heavily in all areas.

This means bringing in the right people, improving our systems, and building a structure that supports ambitious growth, without losing the high standards our customers expect.

Here’s a quick roundup of what’s been going on behind the scenes over the past few months:

Strengthening Our Management Team

Earlier this year, we welcomed Scott, an experienced logistics professional, to support our operations team. His industry knowledge and attention to detail have already had a big impact on how we work day to day.

And in another big milestone for the business, we’re excited to have appointed Lee Turner as our new General Manager, a major addition to the senior team. Lee brings a wealth of leadership experience from the logistics sector, and will be playing a key role in shaping the next phase of our growth (keep an eye out for a full blog introducing Lee next month).

Smarter Systems, Better Service

We’re also  in the process of making some major upgrades to our systems to help us serve our customers faster, smarter and more efficiently.

  • We’re very close to having fully implemented and launched HubSpot CRM, giving us a more connected view of our customer relationships and helping us respond to enquiries, quotes and service updates with even greater speed and clarity.
  • Our transport management system (TMS), Journease, is also being updated heading into 2026 — giving us tighter control of fleet scheduling, job tracking and communication with drivers.

The result? Better internal organisation, faster response times and a smoother experience for the customer from first contact to final delivery.

We’re currently recruiting a Sales Manager to be based in our office – someone who can lead, coach, and grow a high-performing sales team and drive delivery of the company’s ambitious growth targets. This role is key to helping us expand our customer base and further develop our service offering.

Speedy Courier Services — 2 Years On

It’s now been two years since we acquired Speedy Courier Services, and we’re continuing to invest in the brand, including the upcoming launch of a new website.

This is part of a longer-term plan to maintain Speedy’s reputation for local service and fast response, while bringing the strength and structure of Today Team behind the scenes.

We’re proud of what we’ve built and we’re already on the lookout for our next acquisition. If you run a same day or express courier business and you’re thinking about succession, growth or exit, we’re always open to a conversation.
