Most shocking footage of the week
This video footage, recently released by Northamptonshire Police shows dozens of reckless motorists performing illegal u-turns and driving the wrong way up a slip road on the M1.
The footage was recorded early Sunday morning on July 5 as cars approached a serious incident at junction 19.
PC Dave Lee from the force’s tactical roads policing unit said: “These people were behaving ridiculously.”
“People joining the motorway aren’t expecting other vehicles to be coming towards them.
“These drivers were not only putting their own lives at risk, they were risking the lives of everyone heading down that slip road.”
The worst part of the footage shows a coach reversing back onto the motorway so it can turn around and head up the slip road in the wrong direction.
Officers are now currently investigating the footage so action can be taken against the drivers who performed the illegal u-turns.
