Today Team Strengthens its Lineup with Two Key Additions
If you know the story of Today Team, you know that sport is closely intertwined with the business, and a sporting analogy is never far away! So, ahead of the new season (or financial year if we’re talking business), we’re delighted to announce the signing of two experienced same day logistics professionals.
With our ambitious plans for growth over the next twelve months, and heading into our 20th anniversary year, it’s a great time for us to strengthen the team. That’s exactly what we’ve done with the addition of Tom Hardman (pictured left, above) as Senior Logistics Controller and Scott Whitney (pictured right, above) as Logistics Team Manager.
Tom joins us from a same day competitor, where he racked up 6 years of experience. He started with us at the end of January and has settled into his role well, as he describes:
“I feel like I’ve made a really positive start with Today Team, and as always with same day logistics, there has been lots of variety. I’ve enjoyed dealing with different customers and drivers, and getting to know them better.”
Tom has worked as both a controller and co-ordinator over the years, making him a versatile team member. He’s already been impressed with the feedback our team get on performance, as well as transparency and clarity in terms of future goals.
“I’m looking forward to working towards both my own and the company’s goals over the next 12 months, and also sharing my knowledge and experience with the team as it continues to develop.”
Our second new signing, Scott, has worked in logistics since he was 18, including same day within that, and just like Tom, joins us from a competitor, describing his reasons as follows:
“What really attracted me to Today Team was the story behind the company, and the journey that Jamie and the business has been on over the last 20 years.”
Scott has plenty of experience in dealing with the operations of large logistics businesses, and is keen to play a big part in our ambitious growth plans over the next year.
“I’ve spent half of my life working in logistics, since I was 18, and I’m excited about being part of an ambitious business, as we aim to double our revenue. I want to be part of that success, and also to help with developing and growing the team here.”
Managing Director Jamie Boyd is also delighted to welcome our new team members:
“As we head into the new season, Scott and Tom are both key signings, who’ve made a fantastic start. It’s a big year for us as we mark Today Team’s 20th anniversary, and by adding more than 10 years of combined same day experience between them, they’ve further bolstered the know-how and experience at our disposal here at TT HQ.”
